Course Content Year one

The first year provides you with an understanding current developments in the legal profession and the legal services market. You’ll also be studying some topics relating to business operations.
Core units in this year include:

  • English Legal System
  • Contract Law
  • Criminal Law
  • Public Law
  • Marketing Principles and Practice
  • Foundations of Management
Year two

In this year you will study realistic legal problems within a business context. You’ll also have many opportunities to learn from experiencing law in practice as a volunteer in one of our pro bono projects.

  • Law of Tort
  • Research and Professional Development
  • Human Resource Management
  • Managing Business Relationships

Options to choose from in this year include:

  • Elements of Commercial and Consumer Law
  • Employment Law
  • Family and Child Law

Year three*

By this stage, you may have just completed a year of employment. You’ll return to your studies with relevant business experience and apply this to either a legal dissertation or project, or alternatively take The Reflective Practitioner Course, where students can gain credit for gaining practical experience of the legal system.
