LLB / LLB (Hons) Law with Business Management

This course gives you a broad foundation in the law of Scotland and also provides you with knowledge of business management. In the first three years you'll study all the subjects specified by the Law Society of Scotland to enable you to seek qualification as a solicitor. In addition, in each year you'll take one business management module. In fourth year, you'll take two further business management modules plus two optional law subjects, some focussing on specific areas of law not so far covered in the degree, such as Sports Law, and others being more discursive, enabling you to reflect on the function of law in a wider economic, political, international and social context. You'll also write a dissertation on a legal topic of your choice. The LLB (Hons) with Business Management is a full-time course. You may graduate with an LLB Ordinary degree after three years or an LLB with Business Management Honours degree after four years. It's not possible to graduate with a combined LLB Ordinary degree. If you already have a first degree you can apply for our graduate accelerated programme and complete an ordinary LLB in two years. It's not possible to graduate with a combined accelerated LLB Ordinary degree. You'll learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures and tutorials, and also through interactive practice sessions and independent study. This degree will improve your communication, research, problem-solving and presentation skills. What you study Below is an indication of the compulsory modules you could study.
