WHAT DO WE DO?
We support and teach students with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. We ensure that students who have specific needs are looked after in terms of physical support, classroom support, teaching support and specialist equipment in order to achieve their goals.
HOW DO WE SUPPORT STUDENTS?
Students are encouraged to discuss their needs during interviews and those needing physical care are assigned a key worker who along with the LLDD coordinator and learner support coordinator will regularly review their needs. Students needing classroom support are allocated an Educational Support Worker and in some cases, students will also benefit from 1:1 support with a specialist teacher.
Specialist services are available such as speech and language therapy, visual and hearing impairment assessments as well as a wide range of specialist equipment. The Broadview Centre offers a well equipped base for students to work in or to relax and share views and ideas in a supported and friendly environment.
TRANSPORT
Transport to and from college is accessed through the Education Transport Department at the City or County Council. We can advise and support applications for transport.
ACCESS
Wheelchair access is available almost throughout the college however the current building structure does not allow wheelchair access to Chemistry, Physics and Media suites.
