Entry requirements
A good undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification with appropriate law content.
Students with three years' legal or relevant commercial work experience will also be considered subject to interviews.
Applicants with extensive work experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.5 or above, and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).

The new LLM course offers a combination of lectures on the law of international intellectual property and technology.

You will study the most important components of international intellectual property law such as copyright, patents and trademarks and how these forms of intellectual property are protected in the digital age.

Intellectual Property Law in the Digital Age
This module addresses specific intellectual property issues related to the digital environment, including protection of computer software, privacy and digital rights management. The module will also enable you to identify, understand and evaluate these legal issues in an international context.

Commercial Intellectual Property Law
This module gives you with an in-depth knowledge of major aspects of intellectual property, such as trademarks, copyrights and patents. Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of intellectual property issues relating to commercial transactions.

International Commercial Arbitration and Mediation
This module provides you with a detailed introduction to both the theory and practice of international commercial arbitration and mediation, as well as other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

International Commercial Law
This module examines the practical and theoretical issues in international private transactions. The module focuses heavily on the traditional commercial sale and finance of such transactions, but it also incorporates principles of Intellectual Property Law, the knowledge of which is essential in the context of modern international business.

Research Methodology
This module provides a thorough basis for Masters level research methods. It addresses core content areas appropriate to research in a legal context, and supports you to achieve appropriate levels of competence in these areas, as well as broadening your knowledge of research tools.

Dissertation
Your dissertation gives you the opportunity to demonstrate the mastery of a particular subject area, by completing an extended piece of self-managed research. Your dissertation will develop and test your ability to conceptualise, appraise and critically evaluate a significant topic relating to the legal issues surrounding international banking and finance.
