Course Content
This two-day "fast track learning" course really puts an emphasis on the practical.
This module does not include stereo recording methods, but is designed to equip trainee Sound Recordists or single camera operators seeking skills enhancement with a thorough grounding of equipment used on location.
Practical, challenging situation workshops introduce delegates to the need for a range of microphone types for different situations. Added to this, the course investigates the use of mixers, line-up, levels, indicators and monitoring, together with a justification of compressors and limiters, across a variety of genre for Current Affairs, Documentary, Corporate and News Gathering.
The course includes location Health and Safety, dealing with Clients and Artistes, and basic fault finding/first line maintenance as "field diagnostics".
An extremely busy, but rewarding two days for small groups with some camera operations included as well!
