London in Film

London is arguably one of the most cultural, vibrant and diverse cities in the world; producers, film makers, storytellers and creatives have been inspired for centuries to capture the essence of the city. The London In Film course will provide you with an inspirational overview of London through film. During the course you will be introduced to both the pyscho-geography of the capital and to the nature of films. Different kinds of film will be examined and their representations of London contextualised by visits to the locales. From Soho, Spitalfields and Chelsea to Chiswick all the aspects of one of the world’s greatest cities will be examined.

During this five day course you will walk and visit key sites, film locations and museums and will examine particular directors and their films through seminars and discussions.

By the end of the course you will be able to understand the historical development, processes and modes of change in the life of a city through film.
