Who is this for?

Organizations that are passionate about service! At some point all organizations have Blind, partially sighted or DeafBlind employees, customers, clients, suppliers or visitors. Do you need to make your environment more accessible to visually impaired people? Are you delivering services and products to the public? There are over 60,000 Blind people with an ever-increasing number of age-related visual impairments being diagnosed. Are you working with or caring for someone with sight loss and want to understand them better?

This Masterclass will allow individuals and teams to communicate effectively and engage with Blind and partially sighted people which in turn will enhance service and productivity levels.

Our Aim

LSDBP has the longest established reputation in the Region for its in-depth Blind Awareness training and has now built on this experience to produce a professional course framework including this Masterclass. This framework is aimed at delivering efficient and effective training to all attendees whilst meeting the needs of busy, expanding organizations. However, we are very aware that the content may need to be tailored to meet your precise requirements, meeting the challenges of your organization quickly and easily when coming in contact with Blind and partially sighted people. What you get!

1. We will discuss what you would like to see included and any specific requests you have prior to the Masterclass.
2. In this Masterclass you will access the 7 key areas that you will need to gain a greater understanding of Blind Awareness including implications of sight loss and what that means in practical terms as well as guiding skills working in real situations. Equipment and services available to support Blind and partially sighted people. How to assist people with guide dogs and/or canes. Simple steps on how to create a correct and safe environment.
3. This fun, informative and interactive session will enable you to engage and understand the difficulties faced by Deaf and Hard of Hearing people on a daily basis.
4. We will follow up this Masterclass with email advice, for a three month period, about Blind-related Projects in the workplace that will enhance your learning from this Masterclass.
