Course programme

Learn the impact of heritage and regeneration policies on regional and national identity. Discover the benefits of arts engagement in education, health and prison settings. Investigate how issues of diversity are played out in museums.

You learn through: short lectures; guest speakers from the arts sector; study visits to important cultural sites; working on a management project in partnership with Museums Sheffield and other arts organisations; seminar activity; discussion of reading; online reflective blogs.

This approach allows you to build your knowledge and skills and grow in confidence, becoming a more critical and independent learner.

You will be prepared for the challenge of the final dissertation and, furthermore, for the demands of further study or cultural sector employment. You are supported to secure voluntary work experience with a range of partner organisations. You have the opportunity to go on study visits to vibrant cultural centres.
