About this course

You will learn how to cut a pattern, sew a garment together, put in a zip and work a button hole. You will also learn how to fit the garment and modify the pattern

The course is intended for anyone who wishes to increase their sewing knowledge and gain the skills needed to make a garment at this level

This is a 4 day class showing you how to make a 1870's style bustle dress,

Using period sewing and fitting techniques you will make a dress to fit yourself and also the top petticoat. The dress will fit better if you bring along the correct period shape corset and frame to wear underneath

We will also discuss fabrics to enable you to go away and make more garments

We provide fabric for toiles + boning and interlinings where needed, but not top fabrics, which you will need to bring with you, we will give you advice on what to use on booking

This class isn't for beginners and knowledge of basic sewing and using patterns is required.

You will get to keep your toiles so you can make more at home later.
