I've been making jewellery on and off for nearly 20yrs but I'm now totally addicted to it! In between being a mother of two and working part time, I sit at my workshop and like to create gorgeous wearable costume jewellery. I sell my designs online via Facebook 'Offbeat Beads' and also via my shop www/folksy.com/shops/armcandy. I am passionate about jewellery making and enjoy trying out all the new techniques on offer.
Course programme
Walk into any high street store and in their accessory section will no doubt be a wall of beaded jewellery in dazzling colours and an array of finishes - some are just a lovely collection of colours whilst other wind their way up your arm like a rainbow. And now, in this solid foundation course which is aimed at those that want to learn the basics, you too can make this eye candy!
In this course you will:
- Design and make three pieces of jewellery (a charm bracelet using Glass beads and Pearls, earrings with Sterling Silver Earwires and a bookmark)
- Understand the correct tools and equipment for jewellery making.
- Learn important techniques such as crimping, creating loops, using nylon, chain, attaching clasps and jumprings
- Work with you to develop your own unique style.
- All materials and tools provided, also lunch and refreshments for the day.
- Provide you with a take home worksheet which covers all the course material but also gives information on how and where to obtain supplies
