About this course


Successful completion of a relevant level 2 qualification, or 5 GCSEs (grades A* – C) and work experience. You are required to be employed in a suitable role, providing the required experience to gain the qualifications for your NVQ. You will be required to attend an interview with the work based learning team and be asked to complete basic skills assessments in literacy and numeracy. You will need to be committed to your study and responsible for your own learning.

NVQ Certificate Level 3. Units include:


Manage own Professional Development Within an Organisation

Set Objectives and Provide Support for Team Members

Plan, Allocate and Monitor the Work of a Team

Certificate in First Line Management. Units include:


Personal Development as a First Line Manager

Improving Team Performance

As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 2/GCSEs in English and maths.

Considering an apprenticeship?

You can apply for both an apprenticeship, and a full-time course as your back up,
but note that you will need to do some research to find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice
if you do not already have one.
