Management Advanced Apprenticeship

This course is designed to give you the relevant training and education required to work within a team environment. Learning through work experience with an employer and training in order to achieve a Level 3 Management Apprenticeship. The Management Advanced Apprenticeship course is aimed at those who hold a management position and have an understanding of the functions and activities involved.

Course Content

NVQ Certificate Level 3. Units include:

Manage own Professional Development Within an Organisation

Set Objectives and Provide Support for Team Members

Plan, Allocate and Monitor the Work of a Team

Certificate in First Line Management. Units include:

Personal Development as a First Line Manager

Improving Team Performance

As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 2/GCSEs in English and maths.

What are the entry requirements?

Successful completion of a relevant level 2 qualification, or 5 GCSEs (grades A* – C) and work experience. You are required to be employed in a suitable role, providing the required experience to gain the qualifications for your NVQ. You will be required to attend an interview with the work based learning team and be asked to complete basic skills assessments in literacy and numeracy. You will need to be committed to your study and responsible for your own learning.

What can I do next?

Career pathways may include progression to roles such as middle and senior manager, department manager, head of department or a wide range of managerial roles within business. Higher education opportunities may include the Foundation Degree in Management at Colchester Institute.

Considering an apprenticeship?
Many young people look to an apprenticeship to gain valuable skills directly in the workplace.
You can apply for both an apprenticeship, and a full-time course as your back up,
but note that you will need to do some research to find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice
if you do not already have one.

If you are applying for an apprenticeship please use the application form above,
ensuring you complete section 4 of the form. In order to start your apprenticeship you must have an employer
ready to complete your apprenticeship with.
