About the course:
This qualification is intended for the senior manager who have operational responsibility for substantial programmes and resources, have a broad span of control , are responsible for identifying and implementing change and quality improvements , negotiate budgets and contracts and lead high level meetings You will be invited to attend a series of workshops to gain the necessary knowledge and understanding which is necessary to support your claim for competence and also prepare a portfolio of evidence based on your work.

Course Content:
Candidates must complete 7 units - 4 mandatory plus 3 from a choice of 21 optional units Mandatory units · Provide leadership for your organisation · Encourage innovation in your organisation · Ensure an effective organisational approach to health and safety · Improve organisational performance Optional units · Manage your own resources and professional development · Develop your personal networks · Map the environment in which your organisation operates · Develop a strategic business plan for your organisation · Put the strategic business plan into action · Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements · Develop the culture of your organisation · Manage risk · Lead change · Plan change · Implement change · Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders · Plan the workforce · Provide learning opportunities for colleagues · Obtain additional finance for the organisation · Promote the use of technology within your organisation · Manage a programme of complementary projects · Develop and review a framework for marketing · Build your organisation's understanding of its market and customers · Develop a customer focussed organisation

Equipment Requirements:
Lever arch file, access to word processing and email.

Assessment:
You will produce a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates your competence and underpinning knowledge and understanding.

Progression:
Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadershp, Chartered Manager.

Additional Information:
It is anticipated that you will be able to complete your portfolio in 18 - 24 months. It may be necessary for you to enrol on the programme for more than one academic year. You will need to identify a senior manager from your organisation who will be prepared to act as your mentor. This person will be responsible for helping you to collect information on your role in the organisation and also working with you to carry out an assessment of your personal competency. It is often useful for your line manager to undertake this role but if this is not possible another person would need to be identified who is abler to comment on your job role and the way in which you carry out your tasks. The portfolio of evidence will be assessed at meetings with your assessor.
