  • Excellent company to work with, know exactly what they're doing and do it very well ! Many units to choose from to make a package that suits me and what I required. Initial and ongoing impartial discussions to ensure that I received the correct information & advice at all times. Cost benefits are huge as this will stay with me and endorse my management role and ability. Feelgood factor is 10 out of 10 too. Many thanks indeed to SDL.

What I would highlight: Those that work and treasure their personal time. Those who want a qualification to incresae salary or move into new areas. It gives you a good coverage and specific coverage of management and also you can showw exactly what you do - as an employer myself this is worth so much more than theory that hasn't yet been experienced.
Costs represented good value as I did not have to attend anywhere, buy text books, parking, time etc - so no hidden costs and the price includes certification, visits, any communication etc - good value!
Excellent communication, staff, experience - very impressed by the set-up all round. Found that they were friendly and also switched-on to and attentive. Never had any problems with them and they were very respectful of timings and the fact that meetings could be altered - knowing the real work days and pressures was a great way to be confident with them .
The level is ideal for my role as i have a high level of responsibility and also theoretical courses were just not right for me - I like to manage and be part of it.
What could be improved: N/A - nothing that I can think of at all as I should have done this earlier. Even took to be being observed after the first time!!!

What I would highlight: the course was very enjoyable and without the threat of exams I was totally relaxed. Putting together evidence to show what I do was really good fun and I started to understand the process fairly quickly and my assessor was really good with ideas of what I could present. I have meaning to get a management qualification for some time but the thought of evening classes or weekends etc really kept me from doing anything and didn't realise that you could do this whilst still at work - this is perfect if you work and i would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn but cannot find the time or simply doesn't want to give up spare time! I got an initial meeting where I discussed all I wanted from the course and my assessor also discussed the systems and processes of NVQs and we also discussed the optional units and also my work role and what i did. I have a Level 4 certificate that is nationally and internationally recognised and I am in negotiation to put through more of my team through other NVQs with SDL as I really consider the investment a sound one and i want my staff to feel supported and valued. I have been through the process and so it is more easy for me now to provide them with opportunities.

What I would highlight: Easy to find the time to work on th ecpoiurse and still go to work and run a home. The many ways that you can show that you do things is incredible and I was soon using recordings, photos etc - great stuff!
No exam but is a recognised qualification at a good level!!
What you do at work becomes the evidence - this will enable me if I wanted to be more employable as i have now not just got the experience but have added the qualification to it - as an employer this is the the best way i think as its just not theory and no practice
Definitely and have done and will continue to do so - my assessor was great and such a laugh and also personable. Not used to this and you also feel instantly that they know what they're doing and not just spinning out th esame old lines that you often get and also that they are and have been managers too and recently!

They come to you - so is fantastic and always call before to make sure that youre ok and there which was a really nice touch.
What could be improved: Nothing - only negative is that I miss the free advice & consultancy I got from them so shh on that one...ha!

What I would highlight: The course was different to what I thought it might be - this is a good thing as I am extremely busy at work and trying to balance home/life/work constantly!!!
I haven't been involved in learning for some time apart from a few updates at work but these were half days or the dreaded online stuff that really means very little!

I have been in supervisory management for some years and now find that I am in a much senior position and with the help of SDL I was guided to the Level 4 as my duties were sufficient and this was thoroughly discussed with my assessor - it was through initial assesment and skills scans - sounds strange but in actual fact was really interesting and I am more aware of the levels of competence and what is required in jobs ( this has helped me with subsequent recruitment and job descriptions - so again thanks for that!)

It was a different experience to start of with as once I had got my head around providing evidence of me doing things and also being observed and discussing things I soon got to grips with it. As my assessor said and this rings so true " it's often difficult to see someone manage" but with work product and also testimonies and so many other ways of providing evidence it suddenly clicks and comes to life.

SDL advertise that they know what they're doing as they would but honestly THEY REALLY DO - all have had real jobs and worked and are constantly updating and have such a wealth of experience I would defy anyone to present them with something they couldn't transcibe to an NVQ.

The course never once interfered with work and home and I found that the meetings monthly to plan and review progress were beneficial in themselves as you do not feel alone or stuck with anything - its really nice to see that duties I do go in so many units and I have learnt to take stock of what I do in a day/week/month and this helped me write a really well received report for my company regarding duties and roles. Great value - thankyou
