Course programme

The NVQ is related directly to your job role and requires you to step back and reflect on your performance at work, review your working practices and identify any improvements you can make. It provides a personal development opportunity and enhances efficiency within your organisation. This programme will run on an individual basis and your assessor will guide you on how to build a portfolio of evidence which reflects your ability to manage at this level. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 25 credits. Completion of the mandatory units will provide 14 credits. The remainder will be achieved by completing a selection of optional units (depending on credit value and rules of combination). Your Assessor will guide you on the selection of appropriate units. Mandatory Units: Manage own professional development within an organisation Set objectives and provide support for team members Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team Optional Units: The optional units cover a wide variety of roles within management including: Manage risk in own area of responsibility; Manage or support equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion in own area of responsibility; Manage customer service in own area of responsibility; Support individuals to develop and take responsibility for their performance; Plan and manage a project; Lead and manage meetings; Prepare for and support quality audits; Manage conflict in a team; Procure supplies; Develop working relationships with colleagues; Manage customer service in own area of responsibility; Implement change in own area of responsibility; Support team members in identifying, developing and implementing new ideas; Recruit staff in own area of responsibility; Provide leadership and direction for own area of responsibility; Implement change in own area of responsibility; Manage grievance procedures; Make effective decisions. Your Assessor will help you to identify the most appropriate units for your individual role.
