About this course

No specific qualifications are necessary but candidates must have knowledge of academic theory and current legislation, be in the correct job role and at the correct level within their organisation in order to be able to achieve the qualification.  A training needs analysis can be performed prior to enrolment in order to ensure commencement at the correct level.

Description
This programme provides support, assistance and assessment for building a portfolio of evidence for Management NVQ Levels 3, 4 and 5.

Program
Initial interviews and induction will take place on an individual basis. On enrolment on the programme candidates will become student members of the Chartered Management Institute.
Course objectives/key benefits:
Based on the national standards of the Management Chartered Initiative and developed in association with the Chartered Management Institute, this programme aims to provide managers with a framework for demonstrating their competence and to encourage their continuing professional development. By the end of the programme candidates will have developed their knowledge of management theory and practice and built a portfolio of evidence.
Who the course is aimed at:
· Level 3 is aimed at personnel in a supervisory management role who have some responsibility for staff
· Level 4 is aimed at personnel in a managerial position with responsibility for staff and budgets
· Level 5 is aimed at personnel in a senior managerial position with sole responsibility for decision-making
Course content:
Each candidate works with an assessor who will visit them in their place of work and assess their skills against criteria for the qualification. The assessor will aid the candidate with portfolio construction and observe them within the working environment.
The programme is designed to be flexible and is tailored to meet individual requirements. The course should be completed within the following time scales. If not achieved within the agreed timescales there may be additional costs.
· Level 3 9 - 12 months
· Level 4 12 - 15 months
· Level 5 12 - 18 months

Recommended follow-up courses:
The NVQ Level 4 can be followed by the Post-graduate Diploma in Management and the NVQ Level 5 by the Diploma in Management.
