Management of Risk (M_o_R®) Practitioner Exam Preparation

Overview

The Management of Risk (MoR) Practitioner Examination Preparation event provides an opportunity for delegates to revise key areas of the MoR Guidance and discuss these with a delegate peer group. The event will work through various example Practitioner questions and consider the reasoning behind the answers, developing a deeper understanding of the application of the Guidance. Delegates will also be able to become familiar with the Objective Testing Exam (OTE) format and consider various exam approaches and strategies.

The focus of this event is primarily to refresh existing knowledge of the Guidance and to provide experience of the Practitioner style Objective Test exam.

Event Content

The event covers the following main topic but is run on a flexible basis allowing the Trainer to respond to the delegates particular areas of concern or weaknesses.

• MoR Process Model
• OTE exam question types and guidance
• Specific topic area reviews
• Sample OTE questions and group review of the answers
• Exam hints and tips

Approach

Following the event, delegates will have had an opportunity to try out the application of their existing MoR knowledge to a number of typical scenarios and objective tests.

It may be expected that this preparation event will improve the likelihood of passing the APMG Practitioner Exam. However, success in the exam requires some basic analytical skills under time pressure and the event is not intended to provide anything other than a high-level appreciation of these important skills.

Event Details

The Exam Preparation day is held on a Thursday followed on Friday by the Practitioner/Re-registration exam. The Preparation Event is held quarterly in Bournemouth on a residential basis.

The following materials are included in the price of the event:

• Event Prep CD – Includes a pre-course reading guide, taking delegates through the MoR guidance and syllabus.
• MoR Examination Assistant – contains sample APMG Practitioner papers and exam guidance.
• ABC company sample documents - Based on a fictitious company known as ABC Consulting Ltd., this provides sample M_o_R documents showing their typical content as well as worked examples of some of the common techniques. This along with the manual is the only documentation allowed as reference material in the exam.

The official MoR Guidance can be referenced during the Practitioner examinations, and it is expected that the candidate will possess a copy of this already. If required, SPOCE can supply a copy of the MoR Guidance for £45.00 + vat + pp.

Included in the price for this open event are all teaching materials as well as morning and afternoon tea/coffee and lunch.
