Managing Aggression This very difficult subject is approached in a sensitive and creative way and aims to help participants develop safe practice.  The cycle of aggression is explored from predisposing factors, identifying risk and through to prevention of crisis.  The safe management of violent incidents and talk down techniques are taught. This course does not teach physical restraint Whilst the risk of being subjected to aggressive behaviour in mental health settings is often exaggerated, it is appropriate for the mental health worker to be equipped with appropriate understanding and skill so that they might more ably deal with aggressive behaviour should this confront them.  This course will provide the participant with an understanding of the underlying factors that may lead to aggressive behaviour and a range of strategies and skills for dealing with this.  The emphasis is on prevention, calming, legal and good practice issues
