Managing Challenging Behaviour in the Workplace Key Trainer's Certificate
In the delivery of this training EDGE services only use trainers that are members of the Institute of Conflict Management (ICM) and operate to the ICM Code of Practice. In addition, trainers have attended Resolution National Syllabus' Familiarisation Seminars organised by the Counter Fraud & Security Management Services (CFSMS).
This course has helped many organisations and their staff to deal effectively with aggressive and potentially violent clients.
The course is designed for those whose staff may come into contact with individuals exhibiting violent or aggressive behaviour.
It provides delegates with the knowledge, skills and confidence to train others in de-escalation and in breakaway techniques, which can be adopted, to deal with violent situations.
Course Content Includes:
  • anticipating and preventing aggression
  • anticipating and preventing violence
  • legal issues relating to dealing with a violent person
  • effective communication skills used in de-escalation
  • risk assessment and action to de-escalate violent situations
  • breakaway techniques
  • debriefing of staff and clients
  • effective teaching skills
