On Quanta Training

Provider description
Started in 1991 as a technical training company in Worcester, serving the IT industry and focusing primarily on Unix systems, Quanta Training Ltd has evolved from a company employing just one person and being based above a laundrette (some of you remember!), to our current situation, training over 3000 IT professionals a year. Julian & Jane Ward, the directors, have been with the company since its inception and continue to lead the company today.

The growth of Unix in local authorities as a platform on which to run Council Tax systems and then in the mid nineties the launch of Microsoft Windows NT and the associated demand for training, saw the beginning of a concerted spurt of growth for Quanta Training.

Expanding from a core of operating systems training, the growth of the internet and in-house development led to an ever expanding portfolio of technical courses. Meanwhile our customer base moved from smaller to medium and large organisations and government bodies.

At the turn of the century a strong belief that technical training alone was not enough to ensure the success of an IT department, led to the development of a series of personal development training courses, uniquely aimed at IT staff. These management, communication and leadership courses continue to be a strong area of growth for the company, alongside a rapidly increasing portfolio of Project Management and PRINCE2 training and consultancy services.

Now with a portfolio of over 70 scheduled courses and customers as diverse as the BBC and Chelsea Football Club, we are looking forward to a further period of sustained growth over the next few years, focusing on providing a total training solution for our customers, enabling them to achieve success in their projects, departments and organisations as well as providing a rewarding, happy and fulfilling workplace for our employees.
