Course programme

On this course, students will be given a practical introduction to the correct preparation and care of nails, hands and feet. Students will discover which materials to use, and will learn how to perform the perfect manicure and pedicure.

The Manicure and Pedicure course will involve:

  • Salon hygiene.

  • Health & safety.

  • Associated anatomy and physiology.

  • Equipment and supplies.

  • Preparation of the treatment room.

  • Contra-indications and contra-actions.

  • Client management.

  • The value of a professional manicure and pedicure.

  • Practical instruction on performing a professional Manicure and Pedicure treatment, including nail shaping, cuticle preparation and paint applications (including French).

  • Practical instruction on massage methods of foot, lower leg, hand and lower arm.

  • Guidance on maintaining clientele.

  • Specialist treatments - paraffin wax, heated mittens and masks.

  • Aftercare guidance.
