MANUAL BOOKKEEPING LEVEL 1 Entry Requirements
No prior knowledge is assumed, but basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.
Description
This is a 12 week course with an exam on the 13th week. It is for those who wish to gain the basic skills in bookkeeping and accounts, following the Level 1 Bookkeeping and Accounts of the Pitman's Examinations Institute.
Course Content
- Two column cash book
- Ledger accounts to trial balance
- Petty cash book
- Bank reconciliation
- Trial balance to final accounts
- Bookkeeping principles
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
A final examination of 2 hours to be taken at the end of the course on week 13.
Progression
Successful completion of this course could lead directly onto Manual Bookkeeping Level 2.

Personal stationery, calculator, textbook provided.
