Basic Bookkeeping Skills - Pitman Bookkeeping Level 1.
Description
This is a 12 week course with an exam on the 13th week. It is for those who wish to further their skills in bookkeeping and accounts, following the Level 2 Bookkeeping and Accounts of the Pitman's Examinations Institute.
Course Content
-Books of original entry
- Division of the ledger
- Discounts
- Errors and the Trial Balance
- Suspense Accounts
- Journal Entry
- Prepayments and Accruals, Bad Debts
- Depreciation
- Adjustments to Final Accounts
- Control Accounts.
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
A final examination of 2 hours to be taken at the end of the course on week 13.
Progression
Successful completion of this course could lead directly onto AAT NVQ2/3 Accounting.

Personal stationery, calculator, book provided at level 1.
