Manual Handling delegate, November 2005 Introduction: Manual handling at work is one of the most common causes of muscular-skeletal disorders; specifically back pains, affecting employees of all ages. There is an estimated annual cost to industry in the region of £3 billion with over 30 million lost working days. With these statistics in mind the importance of effective manual handling training cannot be over emphasised. Good manual handling techniques are a lifestyle issue. Ask anyone with a back injury! Course Duration: SSG offer this course over ½ day. Course Objectives: Delegates will complete this course with: A significant reduction in the risk of harm occurring through manual handling operations A reduction in the likelihood of sick leave due to back pain related injury A greater awareness of the principles of safe kinetic handling and biomechanics of lifting. Methodology: Formal training session using videos, highly participative classroom-based discussions and group and individual based exercises. All successful delegates will receive an SSG Certificate on completion of the course. Course certification lasts 3 years. Venue: Open courses are delivered at our Plymouth Training Centre throughout the year. Private Courses: Private courses are available by arrangement and can be carried out either at our training centres or at a suitable venue of the client's choice. Course Fees
