What I would highlight: This was an excellent course, which allowed plenty of time to enable delegates to have a practice run at facilitating training in a "safe environment". It was a relaxed atmosphere throughout, enabling effective learning.

What I would highlight: This was an excellent course - not only does it give you the knowledge to run your own manual handling training but also the skills to deliver the training effectively no matter who your audience is. There was a great deal of varied formats in which to deliver the training and it was very interactive. Really enjoyable, great value for money. I would highly recommend Alistair Bromhead's training.

Course programme

This manual handling train the trainer qualification is a 2 day City & Guilds certified course.

It provides the technical knowledge, training skills and course material required by manual handling trainers to design, develop and deliver effective manual handling training. It is one of the best attended manual handling trainer training courses due to its key benefits:

  • nationally recognised certificate for manual handler instructors
  • caters for a range of experience levels
  • highly experienced instructors
  • ongoing support provided
  • includes a unique manual handling trainer training pack with everything you need
  • manual handling assessor training included in course

The course is ideal for a wide range of trainers, from those with limited knowledge of manual handling, training and health & safety through to those who are already conducting handler training but want some fresh ideas and techniques to integrate into their programmes &/or want a refresher course. All groups will benefit from the confidence generated in their abilities by achieving City & Guilds certification.

Participants receive a unique manual handling instructor's pack with everything required for running manual handling training sessions. As well as a comprehensive course manual with the technical information, participants receive a cd containing suggested programmes for running 1. 5 to 3 hour training sessions, hard copies of lesson plans and useful extras such as test and assessment sheets. Please note, the course focuses on the safe handling of materials and goods (rather than people).

The course is the only nationally recognised manual handling train the trainer course for the manufacturing and service industries. Most courses simply use internal certification.
