Manufacturing Engineering BTEC Diploma level 3

Year 1

As a more vocational route for learners than traditional A levels, learners will be engaged in a range of specialist subjects aimed at learners who have decided to get hands-on, relevant, practical and applied theory in their training, whilst obtaining a level 3 qualification. In year one subjects studied include engineering design, mechanical principles, computer aided design, pneumatics and hydraulics, materials science, engineering mathematics, electrical principles, health and safety and business studies.

In year two learners will undertake a major project in which they will apply learning from other topics, further mechanical principles, programmable logic controllers, computer numerical control, circuit design and further mathematics.
