Description:
This is a practical, work related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. The BTEC National Certificate is equivalent to 2 A Levels which means that when you have finished the course you can choose whether to get a job straight away or go into higher education first. You will study 12 units including: business systems, communication, science, mathematics, manufacturing systems & technology, finishing/ secondary processes, engineering design, engineering materials, measurement & inspection techniques, mechanical principles, electropneumatic/ hydraulic systems and devices, further mathematics and a project.

Progression:
Higher education - HNC, HND or degree course.

Entry Requirements:
GCSE grade C or above in maths, science, English language, or BTEC First Certificate, or interview with the course tutor.
