This programme is aimed at applicants wishing to pursue a career at sea. Students will either have a sponsoring company or be undertaking the qualification in their own right. The HND when combined with certain professional qualifications, will entitle successful students to apply to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for a Certificate of Competency; this will allow you to seek employment as a Second Engineer on board merchant vessels.
