Massage Therapies NVQ 3 Entry Requirements

• An NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy with a satisfactory reference equivalent English and preferably Maths and Science OR
• A relevant equivalent Level 2 qualification with equivalent English and preferably Maths and Science OR
• Appropriate industry experience.

Entry is subject to a successful interview. You will need to buy the salon uniform and equipment.

Content You will develop a variety of skills including body massage, hygiene, health and safety, introduction to aromatherapy, facial massage, cosmetic tanning and Indian Head Massage. You may also have the opportunity to take additional qualifications such as anatomy and physiology.
The course is practical in nature but also requires the learner to research and develop their own learning. The learner is also provided with theory sessions, which are either taught or delivered through learning work packs. IT facilities are available for use in the base room and in the Learning Resource Centre.

Assessment A combination of practical observation, assessment of practical tasks, written and oral tests and the compilation of a portfolio of evidence. Progression This course will prepare you for entry into employment, or for further study such as the Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Therapies subject to satisfactory achievement and interview. Work Experience Students will work in our public salons where they will build the confidence to offer their therapies to members of the public.
