Course programme
The Master of Business Administration (Advanced) requires the completion of 96 units, which must consist of:
72 units from from completion of the following compulsory courses:
Management Core Specialisation
Management Essentials Specialisation
Business Essentials Specialisation
24 units from completion of the following research component:
24 units from completion of MMIB8006 – Master Sub-Thesis (Business Studies)
Students must achieve a minimum 70% weighted average mark in the coursework component and have the approval of an identified supervisor for the research project to continue to the research component.
Students who do not achieve a minimum 70% weighted average mark in the coursework component or do not have the approval of an identified supervisor will be transferred to the Master of Business Administration
This program has been re-designed to place a stronger emphasis on research. Students are introduced to the importance of research and provided specific research-skill development within the first course of the program—MGMT7250 (Evidence-Based Management). The methods, tools and frameworks comprising the evidence-based management approach are then systematically embedded within all the courses that follow. We conservatively estimate that at least a quarter of all course content, and all assessment in the courses within the program will be research-based. This would equate to around 18 units of specific research training, and completion of a 24 unit thesis.
