This course is the same as the one which is delivered on-campus at the University of Northampton. Students take the same modules and complete the same assessments. Students are provided with full access to the University's online library and virtual learning environment. This course is an internationally recognised postgraduate qualification in management. Progression through the course is accompanied by a series of added-value elements which include e-materials, Chartered Institute of Management membership (the grade is dependent on the student's existing experience and qualifications), Chartered Marketing Institute Introductory Certificate and Prince 2 Foundation and Practitioner Award (membership and/or examination fees set by the professional bodies are not included in the tuition fees). All classes take place at Birkbeck College (Bloomsbury campus) and students have full access to library facilities.

About this course
Applicants normally require a first or second class honours degree from a UK university (or equivalent) and must have a minimum of 2 years relevant management experience. Results from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT®) are not an application requirement. Applicants whose native language is not English must provide evidence of their English language capability. The level required for study on Master’s degree courses is IELTS 6.5 (minimum category score of 5.5) or equivalent.

Course programme
There are a variety of assessments which include practical work, essays, reports, case studies and examinations. Students are expected to engage in significant additional study, group work, learning and networking and to attend additional workshops to support their achievement of the professional body memberships and awards. The Business Research Project, which comprises a 15,000-word independent project, is submitted 12 months after enrolment.
All modules are compulsory. Students complete 180 credits.
