Course programme
To satisfy this requirement, candidates must complete one of two options.
A candidate must satisfactorily complete two 7,000-8,000 word research essays chosen from any Adelaide Law Masters 3 unit courses.
These research essays are in addition to any other course assessment requirements.
Where a research essay is part of the course assessment, the word limit can be extended to 7,000-8,000 words to satisfy this requirement.
A candidate must satisfactorily complete the 6 unit Dissertation course (12,000-15,000 words) Either of these two options will be undertaken once a minimum of 12 units towards the program have been successfully completed by the candidate.

Master of Laws and Master of Applied Finance Example Study Plan Indicative study plan Core courses (12 units) CORPFIN 7005: Principles of Finance Plus courses to the value of 9 units from the following: ACCTING 7019: Accounting Concepts and Methods (M) COMMERCE 7033: Quantitative Methods (M) ECON 7200: Economic Principles (M) MARKETING 7005: Marketing Principles (M) Courses to the value of 12 units from the list of Master of Laws elective coursesCourses to the value of 18 units from the Applied Finance elective courses Research Students must complete either: LAW 7025: Law Dissertation (PG) 6 unit course or two 7,000 – 8,000 word research essays chosen from any postgraduate coursework Law course each to the value of 3 units.
The research essays will be an addition to any other course assessment requirement.

Assessment May include, but not limited to: Examinations, Group Assignments, Individual Assignments, Consulting Projects, Presentations, Quizzes, Tests, Tutorial Work as prescribed within each course.
