Course description, features and facilities This course is a professionally accredited engineering degree for students who have completed undergraduate studies in engineering. Students specialise in a program of engineering and undertake advanced engineering technical units, professional units, a design and a research project, and undertake a 12 week professional practicum.
Beyond practice as a professional engineer, this course will allow you to pursue further research studies in engineering, as well as to seek employment in a wide range of related industries.

Structure

The Master of Professional Engineering is offered by coursework.


The standard timeframe for completion of this degree is 2-3 years (full time). The course duration will be more than 2 years for graduates without previous studies in engineering or students without required units from prior study. Graduates requiring more than 3 years of study may be eligible for the Master of Professional Engineering Preliminary course.


Recognition of prior learning and/or application for credit (‘advanced standing’) will be assessed by the University on a case-by-case basis at the time of application.


The course offers a focused, advanced learning experience that will enhance career choices. You must complete all core units and specialisation core units. Course structures for each Master of Professional Engineering specialisation are now available via the UWA Handbook.
