Course programme

This programme aims to equip health and social care professionals working across a range of care settings with the necessary skills and knowledge required to

provide excellence in the provision of palliative care for patients living and dying with advanced progressive disease.

The programme, accredited by the University of Leicester, provides a flexible range of modules each of 15 credits. All modules, except ‘Putting theory into Practice’, can be accessed as stand alone units of learning or as an optional

module for a certificate or diploma with a primary focus outside of palliative care. Students may choose to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate (60 credits) or a Post Graduate Diploma (120 credits).

Understanding the experience of living with Advanced Non-Malignant Disease:

Putting theory into practice

Cultural Diversity in Palliative Care: understanding where we come from: Starts 9th February 2010

indicates a core module which must be taken as part of the PG Certificate/Diploma. A

Research module must also be taken as part of the PG Diploma.
