Content / Overview:
Do you enjoy the challenge of a mathematical problem? Are you interested in discovering new mathematical techniques? Just as important, have you achieved at least grade B in GCSE Maths? If so, why not take Maths at AS or A level? You will study Pure and Applied Mathematics in both first and second years and be assessed by written exam. Varied learning methods include active learning and mathematical software packages, as well as investigation. The course, whilst fairly demanding, is also very satisfying. Remember that feeling of elation when you've just solved a complex problem? A popular choice at Farnham College, an AS or A level in Maths is highly valued as an entry qualification for both Higher Education and employment.
