Course programme
The four year MMath degree scheme is designed for those who require a fuller understanding of the subject than can be achieved in a three year scheme. The first two years of the traditional three year honours courses and the new MMath are the same, with the opportunity for suitably qualified students to transfer to the MMath. A special feature of the Aberystwyth MMath is the emphasis on project work in the final year with half your time devoted to it. Training in communication and personal skills is integrated into the teaching and assessment and is regarded as an important element of the degree. These features are essential requirements in those areas of industry, business and research, where professional mathematicians are currently employed.
