What will I study?
Mathematics 'A' Level provides an introduction to three main areas of the subject; Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Decision Maths. Pure Mathematics (Core) covers the techniques required to manipulate and solve a wide variety of equations. Decision Mathematics allows students to apply mathematics in different areas. Mechanics applies some of these techniques to stationary and moving systems to predict their behaviour.
How can I progress?
Mathematics is an important subject on its own as well as being a major part of many other higher level courses. It is a suitable grounding for a Mathematics degree course and for courses in Science, Engineering, Computing and Technology. Courses such as Medicine, Law and Accountancy welcomes applicants who have studied Mathematics 'A' Level alongside other suitable 'A' levels.
