Introduction:
This course is for adults who wish to gain a formal qualification in Maths that is nationally recognised.

Study Mode & Location:
This is a one year course (September to June).Lessons are 2 hours and are held at the main campus on St Vincent's Road.

Course Content:
The college teaches AQA GCSE Mathematics(Modular)

The course breaks down as follows:

Module 1- This module covers the use of statistics and Probability.

Module 2- This module covers numbers fractions, decimals and percentages as well as some algebra.

Module 3- This is the largest module and covers algebra, geometry and shape and space.

Assessment:
The course is accessed by examination. The module 1 exam is in mid November, the module 2 exam is in early March and the module 3 is tested in mid May and early June. Calculators are allowed to be used for part of the exams. Please be aware that exam times cannot be altered so holidays should not be booked over exam periods.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Students can progress on to AS Mathematics if they achieve a good grade. GCSE Mathematics grade C is required for many careers and most universities also ask that students have a grade C to study degree level.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
