About this course

Due to the technical content of the training, it is recommended that candidates have a minimum of 2 GCSE at grade C/D or above in Maths, English or Science based subjects. Candidates will require an interview and complete a skills assessment. Candidates must be in current employment within the MES industry.

Mechanical Engineering Services (Heating and Ventilation) Apprenticeship Entry Requirements
Due to the technical content of the training, it is recommended that candidates have a minimum of 2 GCSE at grade C/D or above in Maths, English or Science based subjects. Candidates will require an interview and complete a skills assessment. Candidates must be in current employment within the MES industry.

Content
This training will develop practical and theoretical skills and knowledge to allow candidates to demonstrate a level of competence and be assessed so that they meet National Standards at NVQ level 2, providing opportunity in applying practical skills needed with either the domestic or industrial and commercial environment covering such aspects as, health and safety, install Heating and Ventilation systems and components, commissioning and decommissioning domestic systems, hot / cold water systems, direct and unvented systems, fuel supply systems, test and commission procedures.

Assessment
Candidates will be assessed through the use of examinations, practical and theory assignments. Completion of a portfolio of evidence from assessment within the workplace including on site assessment will be required to complete the NVQ.

Progression
Once complete candidates can progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship.
