Content / Overview:
This exciting and challenging course will give you excellent technical skills in a range of media areas, such as video (TV and film) and print production. You will also learn and develop your computer software skills for design and non-linear editing. You study three units in total, each with their own realistic design brief, where you create practical products and a written portfolio. Work is assessed through coursework assignments, with no exams. Media trips and speakers provide a valuable insight into how the media works and develop your understanding of employment opportunities. You will need to be creative and technically minded, with a willingness to work on your own and professionally with other students. The media is a massive and varied industry employment sector and this course is the first step in developing the technical skills needed for progression onto further courses or employment.

A Levels or National Certificate in Media.
