Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
You must have a realistic enthusiasm for the subject as well as a willingness to work as part of a group. No prior experience of video or media production is necessary. Although the course is primarily practical you will be required to write reports at the end of each assignment.
How will I be assessed?
The First Certificate is made up of three units, one of which is compulsory and two of which are chosen by the college. Assessment is coursework based, there are no exams. The qualification grade will be calculated through the accumulation of assessment criteria achieved throughout the three individual units. Successful students will be awarded at the end of the course with either a Pass (equivalent CC), a Merit (equivalent BB) or a Distinction (equivalent AA).
What can I do afterwards?
This course serves as a good foundation for students wishing to continue onto Level 3 courses. A requirement of a Merit (BB) is needed for this progression.
Are there any additional costs involved?
