This course has been developed in response to changes within media industries and university courses being offered. You will have the opportunity to combine theory and practice in an exciting and stimulating way, developing yourself as an individual media producer as well as gaining a sound understanding of professional practice within modern media. Subject areas within this course include the magazine industry, TV advertising, music videos, radio news broadcasting and industry studies.

Course programme
How will I study?
In the first year of this course you will study how important your target audience is when generating different media products for them. Year one's assignments include magazine page layout and design, journalism, graphic design, advertising techniques, video editing, pre and post-production skills, interview techniques, news gathering, sound editing, industry studies and more. In year 2 you will look at music video creation, interactive media design and documentary making.
How will I be taught?
This course is structured into units, which are combined with real life briefs to provides real industry experience. You'll have the chance to learn new software skills and, using research techniques and creative sessions, will have a chance to fully develop your own ideas.
How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed on a pass, merit and distinction basis and consist of coursework and assignments. There are no exams on this course.
