Course programme

Medieval Women

The story of medieval Britain may be defined through a series of strong women. St Margaret, the English Princess who became the power behind the Scottish throne; Empress Matilda, who nearly seized the Anglo-Norman crown; Julian of Norwich, who distilled so much religious thought; they are just a handful from the many case-studies in this thought-provoking course. The lives of ordinary women won't be neglected either - all those millions of nuns, workers and wives. Many beautiful slides illustrate this course, which should be appreciated by all-comers. Start date: Friday, February 27, 2009 Start: 14:00 Days: 3 End date: 01 March 2009 Finish: 17:00
