Course programme

What is Meditation?
Meditation is a mind that focusses on a virtuous, positive object and is the main cause to experience mental peace. Through meditation we can learn to identify the suffering and difficulties with our own mind and remove them by changing our inner experience and understanding.

Why Meditate?
We all experience problems and difficulties every day and identify a person on situation as the cause of our suffering. Buddha teaches that our problems and suffering actually arise from within our own mind cause by delusions, negative states of mind such as anger, attachment, jealousy etc. If we can identify and remove these negative states of mind by replacing them with positive states our problems will naturally cease. Meditation is the method to do this.

Wednesday's 7.30 - 9pm

"When things go wrong in our life and we encounter difficult situations we tend to regard the situation itself as the problem but in reality whatever problems we expereience come from the mind. If we were to respond to difficulties with a positive or peaceful mind they would not be problems for us. Therefore, if we want to transform our life and be free from problems we must learn to tansform our mind." from Transform Your Life

These classes will follow the meditations practises presented on the Living Meditation CD Series by Tharpa Publications.

Each class is self-contained, there is no need to book, simply turn up.
