Course Aims:
To give an introduction to various Mediterranean dishes including Spanish cookery, Italian cookery and Greek cookery.
Course Content:
Learners will watch demonstrations of how to prepare and cook a variety of starters, main courses and desserts from each country. Tutor demonstrations and the following week there will be a practical session where learners will bring in ingredients to prepare their own dishes.
Progression:
Progress onto other leisure provision at college as well as accredited catering courses - Healthy Eating Level 1
Exam:
This is a leisure course and as such there is no formal assessment
Other Costs:
Learners will be asked to provide their own ingredients for the practical sessions
Duration:
Three hours a week for 10 weeks
