The Mental Capacity Act (MCA) came into force in 2007 and was designed to strengthen the protection of vulnerable adults. This was followed by The Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards (DOLS) being implemented in 2009. This care course provides background to the MCA and its relationship to DOLS and how those working within the care sector can ensure compliance whilst carrying out their job role. Candidates will also gain an understanding of how to keep the best interests of those that they care for who may or may not be able to consent.

Once you have completed all the online learning materials for this course, you will be required to complete an online assessment. If you fail the online knowledge test, do not worry – You are given 5 chances to revise the e-learning materials and retake the course at no extra charge.
All of our online workshops are accredited and in line with the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development standards. The CPD Accreditation group require a robust process of content development, peer review and compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements. Once you have successfully completed the knowledge test, you will be sent a CPD accredited certificate via email.
