Mental Health Act

Course aims
To provide a broad knowledge of all aspects of the Mental Health Act enabling staff from all disciplines to update knowledge and explore practical issues of best practice and compliance with the requirements
of the legislation.

■ Code of Practice
■ Safeguards for Detained Patients
■ Capacity Consent and Common Law
■ Legal Criteria and meaning of assessment and treatment
■ Case Law, new Mental Health Act and
■ Human Rights Act
■ De Facto detention and safeguards for informal patients.
