Applicants must be currently working in mental health (full or part-time or unpaid), in the NHS, Social Services, Voluntary or Independent Sector.

Entry requirements: individuals require 240 academic credits of which a minimum of 100 must be at level 2.
Experienced mental health workers without sufficient credit may be able to enter the programme on the production of a portfolio for accreditation

Overview & facilities
This innovative Middlesex programme provides a framework which will enable mental health practitioners (full or part-time or unpaid) in the NHS, Social Services, Voluntary or Independent sector, to combine mental health related modules to form an individualised programme of study. This is identified through reflection and self assessment, which meets personal, professional, practice development needs, the needs of service users and carers, and the needs of services-employers

Teaching/learning methods
Students learn graduate skills through use of a variety of teaching and learning strategies, informed by the University and School Teaching and Learning Strategies, and which varies according to the type and focus of the module but which may include: written coursework, group work presentations, use of e-learning applications eg library databases, computer presentations, analysis of qualitative and quantitative research data, reflection on learning needs and work based experience.

Assessment
Students’ graduate skills are assessed by use of a variety of methods, which are informed by the University and School Assessment Policies which vary according to the type and focus of the module but which may include: presentation of seminars/ projects, course work, personal development/learning portfolios, work based reflective accounts
