Over the course of their careers, most executives will participate (either actively or passively) in at most one major merger or acquisition. Over the same period however, they are likely to find themselves dealing with many smaller acquisitions. This will certainly be the case for executives of large organisations. It is also likely that individuals who join or found a small company will find themselves as a target (or wanting to be one!), and if particularly fortunate, as an acquirer as well.

Programme focus and structure

This programme is focussed on preparing executives for a world where Mergers & Acquisitions (M&As) are an integral part of the strategic and financial business landscape. It takes a global perspective, not focussed on any one market or industry, to familiarise participants with various aspects of M&As that enables them to understand the role of M&As in the life of a corporation, how to apply valuation techniques and to understand the alternatives available. A multidisciplinary programme, it takes a general management and strategic approach to M&As, but necessarily incorporates the financial, organisational, individual behaviour, legal and regulatory aspects of M&As into account.

Who is the programme for?

Participants are high-calibre senior and rising executives and can be from a wide range of industries and sectors. Executives who are, or are about to become involved in any or all stages of the M&A process will benefit from attending. Typically, participants have a range of job roles, including CEOs, general managers, HR directors, strategic planners, integration managers and members of the finance team.
