Course programme
Young people aged 16-19 with or recovering from Mental Health conditions such as anxiety disorders who want to move into mainstream education in the following academic year.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?CourseLink is a series of short courses running throughout the academic year. Applicants to CourseLink D must have completed CourseLink C in March. Applicants will need to show good attendance, engagement and punctuality. You need to be well enough to have a realistic prospect of adhering to the Student Code of Conduct; attending at least 90% of lessons; and progressing to a mainstream course in September 2016. You also need to have a literacy level of at least Entry 3.
What will I study ?Three units make up the PSD module: Healthy Living, Dealing with Problems in Daily Life and Working as a Group. CourseLink D students also take modules in IT, Art, English and Maths.
How will I be assessed ?Completion of assignment portfolios, Functional Skills exams.
What qualifications could I achieve ?By the end of the academic year you can achieve IT and Edexcel Personal & Social Development at E3 as well as Numeracy and Literacy up to Level 2 - the equivalent of GCSE grade C.
