Who is this course for?

Employment Link is a course for learners with or recovering from mental health conditions. It is designed to provide you with the skills and support you need whether you are looking for work or preparing to look for work in the future. Applicants should be ready to make a regular commitment to attend and to undertake some kind of volunteering, work experience or paid work. It is for people who want to: Increase their confidence, develop workplace skills, explore routes into work or volunteering and achieve a Work Skills qualification at Entry 3 Level.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

Many applicants will have had recent contact with mental health services however you can also apply if you feel this is the right course for you You must be ready to commit to the course You must be ready to commit to paid or unpaid work or volunteering You must have literacy skills at least at Entry 3 - skills will be assessed at interview You must be willing to work in a team.

What will I study ?

If accepted onto the course you will have introductory sessions over two weeks. You, the tutor and other learners on the course will then discuss and agree the areas of study the class is interested in looking at over the following weeks. These may include: CV preparation, how to search and apply for volunteering, work experience or paid work, interview preparation and practice and Issues of disclosure, managing health and dealing with issues that may arise in the work place or when volunteering.

How will I be assessed ?

You will produce a written portfolio including evidence of your work over the year.

What qualifications could I achieve ?

Edexcel BTEC Work Skills qualification at Entry 3 Level
